Rickey Zito, an artist based in the Effort area of Pennsylvania, performs contemporary Christian pop rock, with a strong Beatles influence to his music. He has 3 albums to date: "It's Time To Understand" (1999), "Our Only Hope" (1999), and "In The Fire" (2001). All three have a similar, laid back style, for the more mellow audience. Music, background vocals and production are strong and progressive.

Rickey's first preface to music was at 8 years old, playing in the school band. He started with the bass drum. Later playing the trumpet, coronet, guitar, piano and drums. He was no stranger to bands, playing with school bands throughout his education; and later, playing in the U. S. Army band. Rickey played with a secular band at the tender age of 15, and has continued his hobby of performing publically for 31 years. Rickey says his favorite style of music is, “rock & roll, but I enjoy many styles.” The Beatles are his favorite band, of course. Phil Driscoll, at The 700 Club ‘Founders Inn’, gave the performance that sticks out most in his mind. Rickey said, “The man played Joe Cocker styled music. I really enjoyed his performance.”

Rickey writes his own music and lyrics, as well as, plays the instruments on the digitized music you hear in his performances. He is a man of many talents, not just musically; however, also in his vast experience professionally as well. It is this gift that reveals a genius in his music, which is still developing. He is steadfast in perfecting his craft. Just like that one characteristic of Christ that Rickey most admires… Fortitude. Rickey says, “I think we all need a little bit of that. Never give up.” His music is inspired by real life tragedies and events. Sometimes what he experiences personally, other times what he sees happening in the world. His greatest fan, and most inspiring person to ever influence his music, was his beloved mother Evelyn. The hope is, “That I may save one soul by sharing my music.” Indeed, an admirable goal.

If you see Rickey at one of our C.M.N. concerts, please stop and say hello. He is a wonderful conversationalist, as well as a talented musician.
